I electronically connected with Isobel Vivers who has taken incredible initiative during the current Pandemic to give the creative ones among us a platform to showcase their work. Isobel has used Social Media in such a positive and influential way and here's what she had to say...

The ~ Inspiration ~...
Mates Who Create started when my sister Adelaide and I were having a gin & tonic on the balcony, I showed her a cool ceramic pot one of my friends had made & posted to Instagram & she said she will have to start following her to check out her creations. Originally, mates who create was just that - a platform for our mates who create to send through pictures of what they are creating & I would post it so anyone (not just their Instagram friends) were able to view the creations - it has now attracted many mates of mates and I get messages daily from people all over Australia sending in their creations. I suppose mates who create was inspired by the adoration I had for my creative mates on my Instagram feed and the frustration I had that not everyone is able to seeing their beautiful pieces. I also don't have a creative bone in my body so I am LOVING the messages and creations being sent in, I particularly love hearing about how they came to create.
What Isobel Wants You To Know...
This page is a platform for anyone creating at home, anyone who is doing creative things as a hobby or our creative mates that go un-noticed. The page is purely to allow others to take an interest (and maybe give them a follow) in the creatives around us. There are some gorgeous pages promoting businesses but the small, hobby creators can often go un-noticed, this is where Mates Who Create can feature them!
The Role Social Media has played...
Social Media has allowed me to create this platform as it is such an easy way to get across to all ages and Instagram has especially been helpful in that it allows people to scroll through & look at the images as a whole - then link up with the creator by following them. Majority of the Creators have Instagram which is helpful and makes it a very smooth process between clicking on the image you like & connecting straight away with a creator.
